——ContiOcean has delivered 70 sets of EGCS
On February 23rd, 2021, when the Chinese Lantern Festival is approaching, the exhaust gas cleaning system (EGCS) from ContiOcean Group installed on the ship M/V"SMITI" of Essar Shipping has successfully passed the sea trial, all indexes of the trail result fully met the IMO MEPB (68)-Scheme B requirements, and delivered to customer. This is our first EGCS project for Essar Shipping installed by ContiOcean Group, and also the 70th EGCS project delivered by ContiOcean Group to our customers. (Essar Shipping was founded in 1945, it is considered to be one of the largest private shipping companies in India. It is headquartered in Mumbai and has regional offices throughout India. Essar Shipping provides heavy cargo and crude oil transportation with a large number of vessels and with an annual turnover of approximately 83 billion rupees.)
2020 was the first year for mandatory enforcement of the emission limit of the sulfur pollutant of IMO MEPC (68)-Scheme B. It was also a challenging year of the industry as the international crude oil price slumped as a result of the worldwide lock-down due to the pandemic of Covid-19. Nevertheless, 2020 was a year for ContiOcean Group to reinforce its believe and its original intent, to overcame difficulties and continues to pursue the vision of a blue ocean.
