Revolutionizing Maritime Intelligence: ContiOcean Successfully Delivers its First COIVS Intelligent Vessel System, Empowering Vessels into the Era of Smart Shipping

Date:25/02/2026

Recently, ContiOcean Environmental Tech Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "ContiOcean") successfully delivered its first ContiOcean Intelligent Vessel System(hereinafter referred to as “COIVS”). Designed for the complex operational scenarios of modern large commercial vessels, this system establishes an integrated intelligent platform of "Perception - Decision - Collaboration - Optimization," marking a critical step for ContiOcean in the field of smart shipping.

COIVS is a full-scenario intelligent solution covering bridge operations, navigation, engine room, and shore‑based collaboration.

■ Panoramic Eagle Eye – Building Comprehensive Situational Awareness

COIVS utilizes multiple high-definition camera arrays and fusion stitching algorithms to generate a real-time 360° panoramic bird's-eye view on the bridge, enabling environmental perception around the vessel. In berthing/unberthing, narrow channel navigation, and complex port environments, the system significantly enhances the crew's overall grasp of the surrounding situation, providing intuitive support for safety decisions.

■ Intelligent Identification – From "Visualization" to "Intelligentization"

The system is equipped with an AI target recognition and tracking engine that automatically identifies surrounding vessel targets and performs real-time matching and verification with AIS data. Combined with CPA/TCPA algorithms and encounter rule models, it provides graded warnings for potential collision risks, assisting bridge officers in making early avoidance decisions – achieving a leap from "seeing targets" to "understanding risks."

■ AI Navigation – Data-Driven Voyage Optimization

COIVS integrates multi-source global real-time data on weather, ocean currents, and waves, together with vessel loading status, speed profiles, and fuel consumption models, to dynamically calculate optimal routes. While ensuring navigation safety, the system achieves a comprehensive balance among severe weather avoidance, fuel economy optimization, and carbon emission control, providing data‑driven support for green shipping.

■ Cloud Collaboration – Building an Integrated Shore‑Ship Operation System

Through secure data links, COIVS synchronizes navigation data and key video feeds in real time to the shore‑based cloud platform. Shore‑based managers can remotely view real‑time vessel status, historical voyage records, and key event playback. Combined with data analysis tools, this provides decision support for fleet management and operational optimization, truly realizing "zero‑distance shore‑ship collaboration."

■ Smart Engine Room Eye – Digital Steward of the Vessel’s Power System

COIVS continuously collects operating parameters of critical equipment such as main engine, auxiliary engines, and shafting, constructing a digital model of engine room operations for condition monitoring and anomaly warning. Through trend analysis and data retention, it supports equipment maintenance decisions and lifecycle management, enhancing vessel reliability and operational stability.

■ Flexible Expansion – Future‑Oriented Open Architecture

COIVS adopts a modular, open system architecture that supports multi‑terminal interaction including bridge head‑up display (HUD), PAD mobile terminal, and remote control terminal. The system can be flexibly expanded according to shipowners' needs, meeting personalized application scenarios for different vessel types and operational models.

With Data as the Foundation and Intelligence as the Core

Against the backdrop of accelerating digitalization and low‑carbon transformation in global shipping,  COIVS, with its core capabilities of "panoramic perception, intelligent decision‑making, and cloud collaboration," builds a new‑generation intelligent vessel technology framework.

The successful delivery of the first COIVS system marks ContiOcean’s leap from technology R&D to engineering implementation in the field of smart shipping. Looking ahead, ContiOcean will continue to dedicate itself to the intelligent empowerment of large commercial vessels, persistently advancing in algorithm accuracy, data fusion capabilities, and remote collaboration efficiency, and gradually constructing a smart shipping ecosystem that covers fleet‑level management and global route optimization.
